Fall 2018 Meetings: Specific Location Information (WITH CORRECTED INFO & ADDITIONAL MEETINGS)

Please note below the specific location, transit, and parking instructions for our FOUR meetings during Fall 2018.  (THIS HAS BEEN CORRECTED FROM PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF THIS POST.)

MEETING #1 – Friday, September 28 (3:45-5pm): Jessica Gordon-Roth on Locke @ Roosevelt University.  The meeting will be in Auditorium Building, Room 720.  Roosevelt University is also easily accessible via public transit using the CTA Red Line (exit at the Jackson stop & walk southeast), the CTA Green Line (exit at the Adams-Wabash stop & walk south), or the CTA Brown/Pink/Orange/Purple lines (exit at the Washington Library-State/Van Buren stop & walk east-southeast).  For those driving, there is parking on Congress Parkway between Michigan and Wabash, on the south side of the street. This lot can also be accessed on the east side of Wabash between Congress Parkway and Balbo. There are two other lots on Wabash between Congress Parkway and Van Buren. One can get a discounted rate by having the ticket stamped at the desk as one enters the building. Unless one has a Roosevelt ID, one needs a photo ID (preferably a driver’s license) to get in the building.

MEETING #2 – Friday, October 19 (3:45-5pm): Saja Parvizian & Joe Gottlieb on Descartes @ University of Illinois-Chicago.  The meeting will be in Stevenson Hall, Institute for the Humanities.  UIC is easily accessible via public transit (Blue Line: “UIC-Halsted” stop).  For UIC parking information, see the campus map and click on “Visitor Parking”.

MEETING #3 – Friday, November 16 (3:45-5pm): Manuel Fasko on Berkeley @ Loyola University Chicago.  The meeting will be in Crown Center for the Humanities, Room 530.  Loyola Chicago is easily accessible via public transit (Red Line: “Loyola” stop).  Parking is available at the Main Parking Structure ($7), at 1038N North Kenmore Ave W, Chicago, IL 60626.
